Eye-Catching Designs in the Forza Motorsport 7 Garage

Here we are at the penultimate week six of car announcements coming to Forza Motorsport 7 and we’re shining the spotlight on a truly unique batch of cars. The Forza world fell in love with the custom built special models that debuted in Forza Horizon 3 and we’re pleased to say that Forza Edition cars, as they’re now known, will be a part of the fun in Forza Motorsport 7! These cars feature unique styles designed to catch the eye, but also custom tuning and special bonuses that will make them must-own additions to every Forza player’s garage.

In Forza Motorsport 7, Forza Edition cars will be immediately recognizable on the track. Whether they’re sporting custom widebody kits and wheels or gorgeous liveries, Forza Edition cars will always stand out from the crowd. Beyond the aesthetics you can only find in a Forza Edition car, you will get a ride that has been fine-tuned by the experts here at Turn 10, who have considered every factor from power-to-weight ratio, to the specific suspension settings that will make a Forza Edition car a top choice for all types of four-wheeled-fun, including special built-to-drift models.

Not only do these cars look great and drive well, but Forza Edition vehicles also offer advantages to progress your career and increase your credit balance. Each Forza Edition vehicle has built-in multipliers that will enhance your credit reward for racing and winning with it, as well as increase the XP gained while you are behind the wheel. These are tools of your racing trade that will deliver a big payoff, race after race.

So how do you get your hands on these amazing Forza Edition cars? In addition to being available as rewards in game, via the Forza Drivers Cup single player campaign or in #Forzathon events, you’ll also be able to find them on the Auction House, which is returning for Forza Motorsport 7.

For those who want to get a great head start on their Forza Edition collection right away, check out our VIP membership, which is available as part of the Deluxe and Ultimate editions of Forza Motorsport 7. All five of the cars included in the VIP Car Pack are Forza Edition cars, including the 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Super Sport Forza Edition, the 2013 Ram Runner Forza Edition, the 2012 Nissan GTR Forza Edition, the 1992 Ford Escort RS Forza Edition, and the 2014 BMW M4 Forza Edition. That’s five awesome Forza Edition cars right from the start, plus custom Driver Gear, and more!

Now check out at what happens to the incredible Ford GT when it becomes a Forza Edition car.

2017 Forza Edition Ford GT

The Ford GT was created to fulfill the most auspicious destiny in the world of motorsport – claiming victory at Le Mans. Marking the 50th anniversary of the original Ford GT 40’s victory, the new Ford GT was built to prove that Ford can still dominate at the highest level of sports car racing. The production model GT is the starting point for homologation from which endurance racing provenance is borne. Take one look, or one listen, or one drive, and the character of a champion is obvious. Throughout the carved aerodynamics and gloriously sculptured form, players will find active elements and static design that create not only unique allure, but massive downforce. Within, technology abounds in adjustable suspension and drivetrain settings that put 647 EcoBoost twin-turbo driven horsepower to the massive rear wheels. Ford Performance set the bar high when they reinvented the GT, and of course both destiny and expectations were exceeded with not only the victory they sought, but the awe of the lucky 1,000 owners who are lucky enough to own them.

The complete list of Forza Edition cars is still growing, so stay tuned for more details on these amazing and highly beneficial cars and trucks! As always, keep an eye on ForzaMotorsport.net for the full list of Forza Motorsport 7 cars revealed to date.

Take a Lap on Some of Your Favorite Tracks, Reimagined in Forza Motorsport 7

Earlier this week, the folks at ComputerBild published a feature on tracks in Forza Motorsport 7. Featuring a discussion with Turn 10 Studios creative director Dan Greenawalt, the article pointed out the many cutting-edge systems that Turn 10 uses to bring the tracks to life with new weather scenarios and alternate times of day that literally cast the tracks of Forza Motorsport 7 in a brand-new light. If you haven’t already done so, check out the article now.

Suzuka Circuit, Completely Rebuilt

It’s one thing to read about the changes coming to tracks in Forza Motorsport 7 but it’s a very different thing to see them for yourself. Suzuka is a prime example; like all of the real-world tracks in Forza Motorsport 7, Suzuka is officially licensed and completely rebuilt with High Res assets designed to look fantastic at native 4K and on the entire family of Xbox consoles. Not only is the track completely rebuilt and updated, Suzuka also features wet weather conditions for the first time in Forza history. Imagine tackling the “S Curves” at full speed, or barreling around the harrowing 130R, only this time battling the dynamic puddles that line the edges of the circuit, and the blinding spray of the cars in front of you. The same challenge that real-world drivers face at Suzuka lap-after-lap, will now be your challenge as well.

Returning Fan-Favorite, Maple Valley

I might be wrong, but I could swear I heard an audible gasp of excitement on the Interwebz back at E3 when we confirmed that Maple Valley would be returning with Forza Motorsport 7. Is there a more lauded, more beloved track in the Forza universe? Whether you’re looking to test your sideways skills on one of Forza’s best drifting tracks, or you want to push the edges of speed on its sweeping corners, Maple Valley is a masterpiece in every respect. Like Suzuka, it will also feature wet weather conditions as well – also a first in Forza history.

I want to make sure that you all understand what I mean when referring to conditions like weather and time of day. In Forza Motorsport 7, we’ve built tracks with a central goal in mind: Making every time you return to a track a unique experience. That goal manifests itself in a variety of ways.

Rapidly Changing Dynamic Weather

There’s no such thing as a simple “rain” setting in Forza Motorsport 7. Not for Sebring or the Nürburgring, or Brands Hatch, or any other track where wet conditions are available. Instead, the team has created a system that can smoothly transition through multiple weather conditions per track, and those conditions can (and often will) change throughout a race. You might start off with gray skies and fog on a track like Sebring, only to find yourself in the middle of a thunderstorm two laps later. The lights might go green at Silverstone during a light rain, only to find drivers in dry conditions by the end of Lap 2. As in the real world, conditions change and sometimes change quickly, and its up to drivers to react to those changes.

Bringing Time of Day to Life

Those dynamic conditions extend to time of day too. Turn 10 is building on the sky technology that was first seen in Forza Horizon 3, capturing real skies that bring life, motion, and color to every track in the game. Check out the screenshot of the observation tower at the Circuit of the Americas against a darkening sky – one glance is all it takes to recognize a Texas sky at dusk. Even Laguna Seca – a track that has been in Forza Motorsport since the very first game; a track that all of us have driven hundreds, if not thousands of laps on – feels completely new in Forza Motorsport 7.

Whether you’re talking time of day or the weather you’re driving in, it all comes back to thatcentral goal: every race should feel unique. When you’re playing through the Forza Driver’s Cup single player campaign, you’ll experience that first-hand. Take a race at a track like Silverstone as an example. Maybe the first time you play it, you’ll battle the elements in a typical British downpour. Go back and revisit that same race in campaign, your conditions may be completely different; in fact, you may not encounter rain at all. The developers at Turn 10 have introduced probability into the various race conditions scenarios; meaning that there is a percentage chance that the weather conditions might (or might not) change. One race, things will go from bad to worse; the next time around, conditions might stay in your favor. It’s that element of chance – and the need to prepare for whatever the race throws at you – that promises to make racing in Forza Motorsport 7 so exciting.

For me, weather and time of day are a game-changer. It will add the kind of variety and challenge that was only hinted at in previous versions of the game. The unpredictable conditions you drive in will affect your race more than ever before, and all of it runs at the rock-solid 60 fps that Forza Motorsport fans expect.

See below for all 32 tracks available to play in Forza Motorsport 7, and as always, stay tuned to ForzaMotorsport.net for more Forza Motorsport 7 goodness as we draw closer to launch, and don’t forget to pre-order Ultimate Edition for early access on Sept. 29.

Defining the Soul of a Racecar in the Forza Motorsport 7 Garage

This is week five of the Forza Motorsport 7 Garage and we’re bringing a huge list of cars to the game – cars that represent a worldwide sample of automotive excellence, with a particular focus on the best cars coming out of Europe. When curating this list of cars to reveal, we pondered the following question: what defines the “soul” of a European car? Some might point to quality, exemplified in cars like the Audi RS 4. Others will point to timeless design – think of the BMW 2002 or the Renault Alpine A110 as prime examples. What about incredible performance? With cars like the 2013 Caterham Superlight R500 and the 2012 Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG Coupé Black Series, drivers will never lack power and agility. Is it luxury you want? Look no further than the likes of Bentley and Rolls Royce.

Many of the cars featured this week have been bred from the most competitive and cosmopolitan race series in the world. The sumptuous lines of the Italian cars may catch your eye, or perhaps the unending search for perfection that defines German engineering. The automotive soul of Europe and all its facets can be found right here this week, all soon to be driven in Forza Motorsport 7.

Now, check out the cars of week five, starting with our weekly spotlight car which was once deemed “too fast to race.”

2013 Caterham Superlight R500

When the cars you built for racing become banned from racing and breed franchise slogans such as “Caterham Seven, the Car That’s Too Fast to Race,” you know you’re doing something right. The Caterham Superlight is the latest masterwork created by one of the patriarchs of racing design, Colin Chapman. The basic design of the Superlight R500 originates from the bones of the Lotus 7 which has existed in a mostly unaltered form for more than 50 years. Sure, there has been evolution in materials, tweaks to dimensions, and the old live-axle rear suspension has long been replaced by a De Dion rear axle. At its heart, however, this is the same car that proved itself unfairly advantageous to race other cars. Caterham purchased the rights to the Lotus 7 in 1973 and has since been “simplifying and adding lightness” as Chapman prophesized so long ago. The Superlight R500 represents a weapons-grade thrill car that can deliver breathtaking performance anywhere it’s required. There are few cars in the world that can match its 0-60 times (at sub-3 seconds) and even fewer that can also equal its lap times that are otherwise only achievable in a purpose-built race car.

Take a look at the rest of the European cars we are announcing this week. As always, stay tuned to ForzaMotorsport.net for the full list of Forza Motorsport 7 cars revealed to date.

Buy Once, Hoon Twice: Xbox Partners with Hoonigan and Ken Block to Bring New Forza Content

Xbox and the Forza franchise have teamed up with motorsport-lifestyle brand Hoonigan to bring some of the most iconic Hoonigan cars to Forza Motorsport 7 and Forza Horizon 3.

Fans who pre-order Forza Motorsport 7 digitally will receive Hoonigan Car Packs for both games at no additional cost. The Forza Horizon 3 Hoonigan Car Pack will become available on Aug. 15 for free in the Xbox Store for Forza Motorsport 7 pre-order customers, with the Forza Motorsport 7 Hoonigan Car Pack available to play on Sept. 29 for Ultimate Edition owners through early access, and Oct. 3 for Deluxe and Standard Edition owners.

  • The Forza Horizon 3 Hoonigan Car Pack includes the 1965 Hoonigan Ford Mustang Hoonicorn RTR V2, 1979 Hoonigan Baldwin Motorsports “Loki” K5 Blazer, 1955 Hoonigan Chevrolet Bel Air, 1972 Hoonigan Chevrolet “Napalm Nova”, 1978 Hoonigan Ford Escort Mk2 RS1800, 1992 Hoonigan Mazda RX-7 Twerkstallion and 1991 Hoonigan Rauh-Welt Begriff Porsche 911 Turbo. The pack is also available for standalone purchase for $6.99.
  • The Forza Motorsport 7 Hoonigan Car Pack includes the 1965 Hoonigan Ford Mustang Hoonicorn RTR V2, 1955 Hoonigan Chevrolet Bel Air, 1972 Hoonigan Chevrolet “Napalm Nova”, 1978 Hoonigan Ford Escort Mk2 RS1800, 1992 Hoonigan Mazda RX-7 Twerkstallion, 2003 Hoonigan Holden Commodore Ute, 1991 Hoonigan Rauh-Welt Begriff Porsche 911 Turbo and a set of in-game Hoonigan Driver Gear.

This is the latest of the collaborations between Forza and Hoonigan including last year’s debut of Gymkhana NINE, inspired by the in-game stunts of Forza Horizon 3, and the videogame debut of Ken Block’s 2016 Ford Focus RS RX #43 rally car in the Forza Horizon 3 Blizzard Mountain expansion. Today, Ken joins the family as an official Forza ambassador, and we’ll have more to share about additional joint events and film projects in the future.

“I’m really excited about the fact that we’re releasing a Hoonigan car pack with Forza,” said Block. “The fact that fans are going to be able to drive not just my twin-turbo, 1400 hp Hoonicorn RTR V2 that I’m running in Climbkhana, but also my Gymkhana Escort, is awesome. Plus being able to drive BJ’s Loki, [Brian] Scotto’s 911 and all of the other cars? None of us actually let anyone else drive our cars really, so this is definitely the best chance anyone’s going to have to get behind the wheels.”

Here’s a sneak peek at some additional Forza and Hoonigan content coming your way soon:

  • Hoonigan Co-hosted Livestream – Join us on Tuesday, Aug. 15 at 2 p.m. on  https://mixer.com/forzamotorsport for a livestream event direct from Hoonigan’s Donut Garage in Long Beach, CA. Cohosted by the Hoonigan and Forza teams, the stream will feature new gameplay with the Hoonigan cars and showcase a collection of the actual Hoonigan cars.
  • Daily Transmission – Ahead of the livestream, the Forza Horizon 3 Hoonigan Car Pack will be featured in upcoming episodes of Hoonigan’s Daily Transmission show. Tune in on August 15th and 16th to see Hert & Kado explore the outback in their signature style.
  • Climbkhana at Petersen Automotive Museum – Forza is proud to co-sponsor the premiere event of Ken Block’s highly anticipated “Toyo Tires presents Climbkhana: Pikes Peak,” at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles this September 24th. Climbkhana features Ken Block’s twin-turbo, 1400 horsepower 1965 Ford Mustang “Hoonicorn RTR V2,” which will tackle the 14,115-foot Pikes Peak in Colorado with Ken himself at the wheel. More information can be found on the Petersen Museum website.

Forza Motorsport 7 is available in Standard, Deluxe and Ultimate Editions, and launches worldwide on Oct. 3, 2017. Pre-order to start hooning!

Explore Your Favorite Car in Stunning Detail in the Forza Motorsport 7 Garage

Welcome to week four of the Forza Motorsport 7 Garage, where we are well on our way to revealing the more than 700+ vehicles that will be a part of Forza Motorsport 7 at launch. With hundreds of cars to race, customize, and explore, this week we’re focusing on the “exploration” part of the game. After all, every car in Forza Motorsport 7 features a full Forzavista experience, thereby allowing players to discover each car’s unique characteristics in exquisite detail. Nowhere is the Forzavista level of detail more apparent than with car engines. Consider two fan favorites: the 2017 Ford GT and the Subaru Impreza 22B STi, both of which feature fully modeled engines in Forzavista for the first time in Forza Motorsport 7.

Two years ago, the GT debuted in the Forza franchise before it was even completed in the real world. For Forza Motorsport 7, the team at Turn 10 returned to Ford Performance’s masterpiece for another round of sourcing, this time with a focus on capturing all the magic of the Ford GT’s Eco-Boost engine and its intricate components. For the Subaru Impreza 22B, the team travelled halfway across the world to source a completely original car – including all factory stickers and zero modifications – giving players a rare glimpse at this beloved Subie.

With Forzavista, details matter and we can’t wait for players to explore their favorite cars in Forza Motorsport 7. In fact, we’re making the Forzavista experience even better by allowing players to explore cars not only in our gorgeous pre-made home spaces, but also track-side before the race begins.

This week in the Forza Motorsport 7 Garage we are proud to announce a deep list of cars from America; more than 100 cars and trucks from as early as 1970 (earlier models were announced during week 2 Vintage Week). Whether you prefer classic muscle or the latest trends from Detroit, this week’s lineup will never leave you wanting for power.

2016 Ford Shelby GT350R

The “R” in GT350R may as well stand for “radical” when you consider how much better Ford Performance made an already amazing car. Powering the GT350R is a flat-crank 5.2-liter V8 churning out more than 500 horsepower and blasting one of the most amazing sounds in exhaust history. But it only gets better as you explore the rest of this modern muscle masterpiece. With carbon fiber wheels (the first to come from a major manufacturer), adaptive magnetorheological suspension and sculpted aero, the GT350R is nothing less than an apex-gulping track day weapon, full of bad intentions. Take it for a spin in Forza Motorsport 7 and watch the records fall.

1970 Dodge Challenger R/T

Among Mopar enthusiasts the Challenger R/T stands near the king of the hill, whether on the drag strip or a road course. With a 426 Hemi under the hood pumping out 425 horsepower, no one will dispute the R/T’s ability to pounce. The dual hood scoops are functional by forcing air into the engine bay, although the true performance enhancement was the “Shaker” hood option that protruded through the hood and attached directly to the air-cleaner. Externally, you can also tell an R/T 426 by its wider fenders, rolled to accommodate the 15-inch wheel option. On the inside, the trademark simulated walnut three-spoke steering wheel and Hurst pistol-grip shifter make an unforgettable impression. As a package, the Challenger R/T has enough appeal to make a Mopar lover out of anyone.

Here is the list of American rides we are revealing this week. As always, stay tuned to ForzaMotorsport.net for the full list of Forza Motorsport 7 cars revealed to date.
