So, I have this Macbook and I’m posting just to see if there’s any interest.
It’s this one: MacBook Pro (13-inch, Early 2011) – Technical Specifications with 2.7GHz processor.
I’ve been using it as a Plex server for quite some while now, but I’ve upgraded and this is unnecessary now. Been running solid without any problems for years, as a personal computer and as a server after. Champ. Don’t want to let it go but someone might have a better use than it being in my drawer now.
Okay, so. Because I have used it in clamshell for the past year+, the battery has swollen up, therefore the trackpad doesn’t really work now – but I assume if the battery was taken out/replaced with a new one that’s not swollen it should be all okay.
In the time I had it, I have upgraded the RAM to 8GB Crucial RAM. Then I’ve taken out the hard drive and the DVD drive, bought a tray, put the HDD as a 2nd storage and put a Samsung 840 Pro 256GB SSD in the original hard drive space. No problems whatsoever since then with it, working perfect.
Body has some small damage (just some scratches that happened over time etc) including headphone jack being a bit ‘bent-in’ because I dropped it off my bed onto carpet in the first month I got it with headphones in, but it’s still working fine.
I still have the original box with it. The charger is working, but frayed. I will include the original DVD drive too because I have it somewhere, as well as the box from the SSD.
I’d like to get £300 for it including shipping.
If there’s interest I will post pictures of the MacBook.
Let me know. Thanks!
