Wanted – Cheap/free HDMI monitor for teaching with Raspberry Pis

Didn’t see anything against the rules for threads like this. Mods, please accept my apologies in advance and remove this thread if I’m breaking any rules.

I’m teaching some children some computer science basics in my neighbourhood. We have some Raspberry Pi Zeros (edited on 12/07./2018 to reflect we have Pi Zeros, not Pis!), but no dedicated display units. I’ve been using my TV for this, but the number of children has increased, so we need additional displays. The only requirement, is they be able to accept an HDMI input, and work.

I’m looking for something as cheap as possible. I can make a small donation to charity or pay a small cost for anyone supplying a monitor.

I can collect from Berkshire or Bristol by arrangement.

Location: Bracknell, Berkshire

For Sale – MSI Geforce GTX 980Ti 6GD5T OC

Closed for now till I review in the morning.

Whilst threads are constantly checked by all relevant mods, some do get missed so until such time as a report is made.

@ghrh – your comments are not required and are not helpful. Please refrain from any further posts if not interested in the deal. Mods spent alot of time reviewing many hundreds/thousands of posts and threads a day so it can be a few hours before things get picked up.

@sutek89 – As above – please use the report function if you feel that there has been a rule violation instead of posting in the thread.

I’ll review tomorrow with regards a few offers/withdrawals. Anything useful to add to the thread in the meantime – pm me.

Wanted – MacBook Pro/air

Yes, me.

I have this Macbook Air for sale. A1466 model, so late 2013, or early 2014.

Spec – Core-i7 1.7 GHz, 8Gb RAM, 250 Gb SSD, High Sierra

Condition is almost mint. I say almost as there’s a couple of TINY scratches on the screen, which I can only see if I hold it up to the light a certain way and even then not that easy to see – just being honest. Speaking about the screen, no dead pixels. Also, 345 battery cycles (see photo). Get about 7-8 hours out of a charge easy.

Doesn’t have original box as I bought as a refurb but it will be very well packaged.

Remainder of the warranty from the place I bought (OCM), so about 4 – 5 months.

I’ve only had it about a month. Bought it because I’ve not had a Mac before. However, it’s too much machine for me, I don’t really need a machine like that just to go on facebook and read the news, and I have a proper desktop system anyway, so I bought a Pixel C tablet instead. Absolutely nothing wrong with the Mac, lovely machine.

Happy to chuck in a sleeve (its for an HP Spectre but it fits fine and protects it) and a mini DP / thunderbolt cable to DisplayPort for use with a desktop monitor. Worked fine with my ultrawide @ 2560×1080, and it should support QHD.

Was looking for around £500 including RMSD. Let me know if you’re interested.

PS. Ignore the TameRacingDriver username on the screen on the photo, that’s my old username and I forgot I changed it. Happy to do another custard test later on if need be :)
