For Sale – Surface Pro 3 i5 8GB 256GB SSD

Bought from John Lewis in May 2015. The keyboard is the newer surface pro 4 type which I upgraded to last year, I find it much better to use than the original surface pro 3 type cover. I would say it’s in good condition but it is a 3 year old machine and there are minor signs of wear on the aluminium case to the rear.

The surface pen is included and I’ve also still got the original box for the tablet/computer (see attached pictures).

It has the Windows 10 April update installed already and I’ve wiped it ready for the next user, so on boot will appear like a new machine i.e. ask your location and preferences etc. ready to set up a new account.

I’m selling now due to having gotten a great deal on a new Dell XPS laptop, sadly I can’t afford to keep both machines so I need to sell the surface pro to help with the credit card bill next month!

Any questions fire away. Ideally I’d like to sell it in person rather than post but will see what the interest is like before ruling it out.

Price and currency: £400
Delivery: Delivery cost is not included
Payment method: Cash or bank transfer
Location: Cheadle, Manchester
Advertised elsewhere?: Not advertised elsewhere
Prefer goods collected?: I prefer the goods to be collected

How to Configure a File Share Witness for a Hyper-V Cluster

Traditionally, the preferred choice for a cluster quorum witness has been some type of networked disk. Small SAN LUNs do the trick nicely. Things have changed a bit, increasing the viability of the file share witness. You can configure one easily in a few simple steps.

For Sale – Intel 4790k, Samsung Evo, Crucial Ballistix 16GB, GTX 780

Hi all
Had this system running as an HTPC type system under my TV for the last year or so. Originally built it as a gaming PC but it has hardly been used for anything other than a bit of streaming/netflix so it is a little overkill and I am thinking of going down the nVidia Shield route instead.

Prices lowered

ASRock Z97 Motherboard (Fatality Gaming) SOLD TO @neil26581
Intel 4790K CPU SOLD TO @Fulwood
Noctua NH-L9i CPU Cooler SOLD TO @neil26581

Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB (2 x 8GB) RAM – £90

To be clear as someone has wrongly pointed out that this is server RAM – this is not the case. Full spec of the RAM is here…

Ballistix Sport 8GB DDR3-1600 UDIMM | BLS8G3D1609DS1S00 | Crucial UK

There will definitely be discounts on multiple purchases. Most things come boxed – some were bought new so I will have the receipts somewhere, other things were bought second hand from here. Everything is working great and can post photos on request.

Added the Silverstone HTPC case – this is a stunning HTPC case if you are ater someting to sit under the TV, it comes boxed with all caddies and screws inside. On the left hand side of the case there are 2 removable panels which hide the fan grills. One of them is ever so slightly buckled – it fits fine but tends to drop out when the fans are going. A tiny bit of tape/glue will solve the problem but in all honesty the panel isn’t needed anyway. It is not snapped or anything, just the plastic panel has a slight bend in it. The Silverstone PSU is a great fit for this case too – photos on request as it is stored in box at the moment.
